Garden Photo Library is the website of Horticultural Photographer
Derek St Romaine

He studied Information Graphics at Harrow School of Art after which he worked in publishing, designing books and magazines for many years. His interest in photography increased whilst working as an Art Director for food magazines. After launching ‘Taste’ Magazine, he left magazine publishing and art directing to open a studio in Chelsea where he set up business as a food photographer. After several years working with food and fed up with driving into London and being cooped up in a studio each day, he changed direction to pursue his other passion for all things horticultural. He has been photographing gardens for the last 22 years.
His work has featured worldwide and in all the leading UK gardening magazines, newspapers and book publishers, as well as providing images for calendars & greetings cards. With his passion for growing vegetables, he has grown and photographed many new varieties of fruit, vegetables and flowers for major seed companies.
As well as taking on commissions and supplying garden and horticultural images to magazines and publishers, Derek also undertakes commissions for private clients, photographing gardens modern, traditional, large or small and works with many of the UK’s leading Garden designers.
His library contains a wide range of images on all manner of horticultural subjects.
