When the owners this house moved from their large traditional garden in Thames Ditton, just down the road to this newly built house they found themselves with a blank canvas – an area some 35m x 10m on a site which sloped towards the house, a drop of around 2 metres. They wanted something very different to what they had been used to. Wondering how to deal with this site they call upon the services of Cleve West, a landscape architect to come up with a plan for this sloping site. The owners, accomplished gardeners wanted to put their mark on the garden by planting it up, the result is a lush, beautiful contemporary gravel garden on several levels.
